Natural State to Live with an Open Heart!
In the wake of the Boston Marathon this quote by Mr. Rogers has gone viral! I felt a deep desire to be a part of this Ocean of Love and Light in the face of such tragedy!
I truly believe it is our Natural state to live with an Open Heart! But, in my opinion and experience, we are conditioned through our environment to begin closing our Hearts, to begin judging others (especially ourselves), and basically to begin living in Fear!
Now with that being said, I believe the Spiritual Path is to return to our Natural State of Love, that is why it’s such a difficult path to embark upon, and why so many remain entrenched in Fear! It is taught in, A Course in Miracles, by the time we are 4-5 years old, our environment has already determined how we will interact in the world as an adult! If it wasn’t a bed of Roses, no worries, as spiritual beings having this human experience, we are always shown ways to Open our Hearts! This is part of our growth, part of our path is to return to this state!
I love this quote, because his environment nurtured him to remain in his natural state of Openness and Love! It so eloquently sums up how he became, Mr. Rogers, the epitome of an adult who lived fully with an Open Heart! It’s challenging to dance with our natural state of Love through the familiar ominous cloud of Fear. The physical expression of that Fear is manifested in the tragedies we see, but have Faith, these are our opportunities to Open! All the times we are challenged by Fear, it is our responsibility, as Spiritual Beings, to OPEN our Hearts to its Natural State of Love! Are you swimming in this beautiful Ocean of Love, or are you trudging through the muck deep in the swamp of Fear?
